Gokarna Forest Resort Kathmandu

Amazing place with amazing amenities like free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and 24-hour reception. I'll never forget how the staff helped me find my lost ring during my first stay. Highly recommend it!

Everything was really good, the parking was on site, the room was well-kept. Caring and absolutely courteous staff who were always there to help. I was there for 4 nights and ate at outdoor restaurant for breakfast. The service was excellent and the pool was good. They offered wake up service and ironing for free too.

Great location and most of all excellent service and very respectful and friendly staff. I am so impressed and would stay here in my next trip to this wonderful country.

We had a proper lush time here, mate! The room was as spacious as a palace and we loved the wildlife chillin' around. Only downside? Bit of a trek from the city center, innit?

The place is great, the staff are one of the best I had ever seen before, so friendly, organized, polite and their hospitality is great. I would recommend this hotel to everyone , frankly they are one of the best.

The 'complementary' jungle walk was nice, but honestly, it didn't compensate for the noise from the rave party next door. Not to mention, the hot tub looked questionable, definitely not the luxury experience I expected. I woudl ve been pleased with a simple room upgrade, but alas, regular guest treatment. Almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

Quiet location. Excellent staff, friendly and efficient. Wonderful rooms, large and comfortable. Well laid out golf course with clubs for hire easily available. Great restaurant at the club house ( the momo's were excellent) with a beautiful view of the course and forest. Very reasonable and excellent spa facilities (swimming pool was being renovated). Good selection of tours available from the travel desk(the everest flight was spectacular!)

No shuttle service making it difficult to travel to the city. Taxi's easily available but could take upto 45 mins at rush hour to get to city centre. More information should be made available online

Couple's Dream Getaway

Got to relax at the pool and the food was great at the bar, the seafood bisque was something else. The room was huge and watching monkeys from our balcony was a trip.

It wasn't a bargain for what you get but still acceptable.

Only two good hotels in Kathmandu, maybe three in the whole country =) And this is definitely best out of those three and one of the best even out from those in better developed countries. Highly recommend! Safe and clean and calm with all the facilities on the place, good bar drinks choice, cousin. Stand literally in a forest, monkeys wandering around and extremely clean air! (You won't find it in ktm))

We enjoyed being so close to nature with the monkeys and deer rambling close to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were able to use the hotel as a base to travel within Nepal and arranged all our 'tours' and visits through the travel agency within the hotel on arrival.

We found the hotel to be noisy in the evening and the morning!

Wildlife paradise near the city

This place is a hidden gem! The indoor pool was warm and relaxing, and watching monkeys from our balcony was a total highlight. The jungle walk offered such a unique experience. Breakfast spread was yum, but wish there were more choices. Oh, and the minibar was locked which was a bit annoying. Still loved it!

Exceptional and responsive staff. Well maintained and beautiful property. Loved wildlife on premises ( mother monkey and her baby were near our balcony upon arrival- but we did not feed the monkeys as instructed for their welfare), Many amenties available such as a guided nature walk on the forest preserve to morning yoga class (no fees) are awesome services. The spa options were exceptional. The addition of lemongrass to the spa water were soothing and most enjoyable. It takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the resort by taxi. The property is outside of the city- a map shows the distance as ~ 10 km but winding dirt roads full of potholes (typical Kathmandu roads) take longer to maneuver. The taxi costs right around $10 USD. The resort's front desk personnel will call for a taxi at your request and the confirmed fee can be added to your bill. A most convenient offer so one does not need to negotiate the rates with a driver ahead of time. A great relaxing area away from noise, and the hustle & bustle of the big city, We will be back!

The hotel is located outside of the city and for me personally that was its biggest advantage. we spent 4 days in kathmandu and its surrounding cities and being all day in polluted, and crowded city, Gokarna offers serenity and peace, comfort and clean, fresh air! i would definately recommend it!

the choice for breakfast buffee was poor and certainly not one for a five star resort.
